Rules
We don’t have many. Just a vibe of transparency and minimal fuckery. You guys get enough of the chicanery dealing with the artist directly.
Service
Some of you might want to buy someone's print. Others might want to sell one. Some might want Trix to add a physical alteration to a print. Maybe someone wants to read something random yet possibly insightful we post here. Others might enjoy perusing a curated online gallery of Trix’s best art, grateful to not have to sort through Floor Dogs on JPG.store or Magic Eden. Maybe some want to see a gallery show in real life and meet some cool people along the way. Maybe someone wants to buy a phenomenal purpose-built frame for Trix's art, the way he wanted it displayed. Maybe some want to engage with the project but want to avoid getting funneled into the meth-infused goat ropes of Discord and Twitter. Those sorts of things. We’re here to help make that happen.
History
We've been here since the start. All the highs and lows. Basked in the brilliance of the artist and also watched the half-wit wild ass things that brought the project to the brink of collapse. That said, we're still here and Trix is still here too. The Old Money project will continue to be feral and untethered. The Ruggenheim, meanwhile, will be your somewhat sober guide for when you're looking for direction along the way.
Money
We might be raging capitalists, minus one member, but this isn’t a money-making endeavor. We fund the Ruggenheim and its activities out of our own pockets and with time taken from our actual jobs. The money you generously contribute through commission payments on secondary print sales or other fees also helps sustain this project. Our exhibits cost around $10k each, the day-to-day expenses add up, and bringing in a niche expert here and there to overcome specific challenges isn't cheap. We don’t mind these expenses, however, and actually enjoy the process, especially if it means we get to spotlight some great art.
NFT Culture
Generally moronic. Generally repulsive. The reputation of room-temp IQ vaporware pushers, shameless self-dealers, and cannibalistic pump-and-dump armies is well-deserved. Our philosophy is simple: what’s good long-term for the greater collector community is good for us. NFT technology is a decent tool for distributing and authenticating art, and that’s what we use it for. You’re spending real money, and we’ll help ensure that what you receive in return is just as real.
Custody
In certain circumstances that you might opt in for, your art will be in our custody. Whether we’re handling your ordinal within the RPG, placing your NFT in escrow when you’ve put a print up for sale, inspecting your physical print to check authenticity and condition as it makes its way to a new owner, or showing your print off at an exhibit, we take stringent measures to protect your stuff. Our incentives are aligned with yours, and we’re meticulous with security best practices. We’ve been in crypto since the days of Mt Gox and understand the importance of trustless exchange and “not your keys, not your coins.” Nevertheless, the reality is we're still living in a web2 world and you’re still placing trust in us.
Lend a hand?
While we’re purposefully a small group, we’re open to collaborating with known members of the Old Money community whose skills complement ours and who maintain high standards. If you see something specific that could be added or improved and want to help, we’re happy to listen. Post something to The Paper Trail? Cool, let us know. Debug something? Absolutely, thanks. Have a gallery space you want to lend? Nice, send some photos. Tag some buildings around the city? Sure, mfer. Let's grab the paint cans.
